The Real Jesus: the gospel of Mark

Our new sermon series, The Real Jesus, started last Sunday. We will be working our way through the Gospel of Mark for the next several months.  We encourage you to spend some time in Mark preparing your hearts & minds for what we will be looking at each week.

The elders have also made the decision that all of our Community Groups will be doing our study in Mark each week. You are encouraged to connect with a group if you haven't yet.

Past sermons are available in the APP or on our website if you want to catch up or if you miss a week!

Journey Youth Group - 4:30 - 6:00 PM

Our students (6th-12th Grades) meet each week in the youth room at 4:30 PM. This is a great time for our students to have fun, connect with one another and learn more about walking with Jesus.

Journey Family Update

On Sunday Aug. 20th during our family meeting the elders shared a financial update and some plans moving forward.

  1. At the halfway point of August, our giving is trailing our spending at roughly $3,000/month for 2023.
  2. We are asking you to help us plan for the future by reading and filling out a brief 3 question survey. This is extremely important. Even if your answers indicate you are not in a position to give more to help cover, we need to know.

Some Strategic Decisions

The elders are also asking you to think differently about some of the things that we do:

  1. We are asking everyone to utilize the double glass doors at the top of the stairs on the Walnut St side, as our main entrance. The doors to the gym will be exclusively for Accessible Entrance & All Exits.
  2. We are asking that everyone sit on the floor of the gym during worship and not the stadium seating.
  3. We are asking you to be intentional in greeting, welcoming and inviting new faces to be a part of Journey.
  4. We are asking you consider being a part of our new Connections & Marketing serve teams.
  5. We are asking you to prayerfully consider being our JKids - Children's Ministry Director.
  6. We would also love for you to check out our revamped website - www.journeyfellowship.co
  7. You are encouraged to help us get the word out that our building is available for rental. we have both a Facebook Page & a Website with more details.
  8. You are encouraged to utilize recurring giving as a means of ensuring that your commitment to supporting Journey financially happens even on the weeks when you aren't present.

If you have any questions or would like clarity on why these decisions are being made, please don't hesitate to reach out to one of the elders.
