How It Started
In 2008, Journey began as a group of folks interested in starting a new church in the Big Walnut area . After much hard work and planning, we celebrated our launch on Easter Sunday April 12, 2009 in what is now the Big Walnut Intermediate building.
These early years were a lot of work and a lot of fun! Renting our gathering space meant setting up and tearing down every week and not having fixed offices or meeting space. Even though longed for a more permanent home, we loved those years. We saw God do so much and reach many people in our community.

Expanding the Vision
In 2011, we moved into the former Fling Hardware building on the square in Sunbury. We enjoyed our years there in the heart of the city, but eventually we outgrew the space and were looking for a larger one.
Looking Forward
In April of 2013 we purchased the former Galena School building at auction. During the summer, we renovated it and had our very first worship gathering that fall. Over the past 10 years, we have continued to grow. We welcome new families and rejoice to see the Lord at work!
